IT ALL STARTS WITH AÇAI BERRIES
Growing wild in the Amazonian forest and naturally high in anti-oxidants, our açai berries are carefully harvested and skilfully macerated in alcohol for twelve weeks to release all of their colour and flavour.
In France, Gilles our Master Liquoriste then blends this infusion with blackcurrants, blueberries, cocoa extract and just enough je ne sais quoi to create something totally unique: A delicious drink that’s just 1% ABV.

So we decided to make Woodstar, a crafted blend of natural ingredients full of goodness. It has no added sugar, no artificial colours or flavours, no sulphites and only 25 calories per 125ml serving.
As for its name? In the Amazonian forests where we harvest our açai, there lives a tiny hummingbird called the Amethyst Woodstar. One of the lightest birds in the world, its amethyst breast plumage reflects the colour of Woodstar. It represents for us the very essence of freedom and enjoyment that we craft into every bottle.

LOW ALCOHOL EXPECTATIONS IN 2019
With current research by YouGov* revealing that almost a quarter of Brits have either already switched some of their drinking to low alcohol alternatives or would consider doing so in the next six months, 2019 is set to be another year of growth for the low/no alcohol category.
DRY JANUARY PARTNERSHIP
We are delighted to announce we have partnered with Old Compton Brasserie, part of London’s leading restaurant and club group Maxwell’s, to launch a new Dry January initiative. As the drinking rate among British adults hits its lowest in eighteen years, our partnership will see Old Compton Brasserie provide complimentary glasses of Woodstar to all those actively looking to reduce their alcohol intake in January.
LOW ALCOHOL TRENDS 2019
During 2018 we saw huge growth of the low/no alcohol drinks category as Brits turned their backs on high alcohol content in favour of healthier choices. With the drinking rate in the UK now at its lowest in 18 years, and more than a quarter of those aged 16-24 choosing to avoid alcohol altogether, we expect this trend to only increase in popularity during 2019.
